I haven't painted any portraits for some time but having looked back at my book on Lucien Freud over Christmas I thought I would like to have another go. Then we unexpectedly had exhibiting space at Dare Valley Country Park as the town heritage exhibition planned by Lucy was cancelled at the last minute.
So I decided to go for it, a series of 12 paintings in a week, a good opportunity to practise old skills and learn new ones, and anyway who doesn't enjoy a challenge? So here is a set of 12 painted heads, I don't think they are quite portraits but they do seem to have a life of their own.
The poster for the exhibition also advertises a new art group in Aberdare and an ACEO exhibition planned for Aberdare Museum on the first of March.
